Excellent trip! well organised - sun gate tours were reliable, trustworthy, thoughtful (eg going through menu prior to departure: proper alternatives for the vegetarian in our group) and reasonably priced. guide maria (contact above) fun, friendly, knowledgeable, sensitive to the needs of the group and spoke excellent english. terrain varied - challenging but not too strenuous, interesting local communities. thoroughly enjoyable!. Day 1 Arrival at International airport of Lima. Meet on arrival at the international airport of the city of Lima and transfer to the selected hotel. After having a rest for few hours you will have breakfast and receive your briefing of your tour contracted. After that you will give your vouchers of the benefit of all the services including in tour and organization of the beginning of its passage by the Peru.

Day 2: Lima - Paracas – Nazca. After the breakfast, you will board for a trip by highway to Paracas this in a private transport of the company where is the sanctuary of more important wild life of the Peruvian coast. Stroll guided in boat until the Islands Ballestas, where we will be able to observe marine lions,birds, pelicans, penguins and other marine birds. We will have the opportunity to see Oasis of Huacahina in Ica. In afternoon, transfer in our transport to the Nazca city for spends the night there (450 km to the south of Lima). Afternoon is free to enjoy the facilities of the selected hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 3: Nazca / Arequipa: Early in the morning, before having breakfast, we will be transferred to the airport Nazca to board a small plane that will make a flight of 45 minutes on the mysterious Nazca Lines of enormous animal drawings, birds and geometric figures, drawn in the desert that only can be appreciated from the air. After the flight we will have breakfast and board the bus to go to Chauchilla cemetery.
Later we will continue our bus ride to the city of Arequipa and we will be in Arequipa about 9 or 10 pm. Transfer to selected hotel.

Day 4: Arequipa: City tour - Chivay.Early in the morning, after the breakfast, we will have 2,5 hours to visit the city and the convent of Santa Catherine, later we will continue our trip to Chivay arriving there around 5:00 pm. Here we will be able to rest in a designated hotel.

Day 5: Chivay – Colca Canyon.We leave early in the morning to La Cruz del Condor, where the biggest flying bird in the world can be usually seen soaring amongst the peaks. On the way back we visit the Colonial Towns and Churches. Good opportunity to appreciate the life of these people that has changed little since Inca times.

Late afternoon return to our hotel.
Day 6: Chivay – Puno: This day we board our transport driving in around 6 hours until Puno city, enjoining the fantastic landscape of the Andes.
At your arrival to Puno transfers to selected hotel.

Day 7, 8: Puno: Titicaca lake 2-days tour to the Uros, Amantani and Taquile. Indians Islands on Titicaca Lake located at12 km from Puno city. There are 40 big totora reed islands. The Uros, one of the most ancient peoples of the Americas, make their living from fishing and hunting, and barter for other products in the markets. After visiting the Uros, continue to Taquile Island, located 35 km (21.74 miles) from Puno where we will spend the night . Taquile Island is inhabited by Indians of Quechua origins, who have achieved an incredible degree of organization in their community. On next day vsit on amantani islands afterward return to Puno in the afternoon.

Day 9 : Puno – Cusco. After the breakfast we will leave Puno by our transport until Cusco, the coach goes through the villages of Paucarcolla and Caracoto to Juliaca, and then continues to Pukara, 106 km at north of Puno, where is the ruins of the Pukara culture can be seen, more than 3,500 years old. The route continues through the small towns of Santa Rosa and La Raya (on the border of the department of Cusco). There is a longer stop here to enjoy an excellent view of the Peruvian Andes, and see the local hot springs. Visit the archeological site of Raqchi. Spend the night in Cusco.

Day 10: Cusco. Guided tour in Cusco and visiting the next arqueologycal sites: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo,Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Spend the night in selected hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 11: Inca Trail: Cusco – Huayllabamba. We will picks you up at your hotel in Cusco for the 2 hour ride by private bus to the small Andean town of Chilca and on to the trailhead at Piscacucho. Here we will meet our porters and camp staff. As our porters load the heavy gear, we head off down river alongside the rushing Vilcanota River, through pretty cactus gardens with magnificent views of the Wakay-wilca snow-peak, to our right. We'll arrive at the Inca town of Llactapata and spend some time exploring this site before continuing up the Cusichaca valley to the hamlet of Huallaybamba where we camp for the night within view of the river

Day 12: Huayllabamba - Pacaymayo After breakfast, we continue walk up through remnant cloud forest , ascending steadily to the head of a valley below the high pass of Warmiwanusca (4200 M.A.S.L) If the weather is clear we’ll get spectacular views of the Huayanay snow peaks as we climb steadily over the pass and down to tree line in the Pacasmayo Valley.

Day 13: Pacasmayo - Wiñayhuayna Today, a steady one to two hour climb takes us over the second pass where we pick up out first real signs of paved inca road, climbing an impressive carved stairway to the minor ruins of Runturacayt. Continuing up this Inca stairway we cross the pass and drop down to the major and spectacular ruins of Sayacmarca.for lunch. Your guide will explain some of the mysteries of Incan architecture and Inca life and we’ll continue on along an exquisite paved Inca road, passing through moss and orchid laden cloud forest afterwar until our next campsite in Winay-wayna.

Day 14: Winay-wayna - Machu PicchuThis site was only discovered in the 1940's and rivals Machu Picchu in splendor. From here its 2 hours through tree-fern laded cloud forest to Intipunku, the sun gate, where we get our first and awe-inspiring view of the cita of MachuPicchu. We'll linger here and then wander through Machu Picchu itself in the late afternoon. After the tour you will have free time to wander around, and then we will drive by bus down to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon return by train to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco transfer to your hotel.

Options: Personal porterscan be hired to help carry your personal items such as clothes, sleeping bag etc. They can be hired for $70 for all 4 days and will carry up to a maximum of 12kg (usually 1 porter between 2 persons is more than sufficient). You can hire the services of a half a porter to carry up to 6kg for US$35. However, even with a personal porter, you will still need to bring a day pack for essential items.
Important note: You must decide if you want to hire the services of a personal porter in advance when making your trek reservation since we need to purchase the porter's trekking permit. You cannot decide to hire an additional porter once you arrive in Cusco.
Day 15: Sacred Valley (all day)this tour starts around 8am., we pick you up at your Hotel, we have a guided tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, over the Vilcanota river, with a panoramic view of Pisac an old Inca City and a visit to the Inka market in this village, where we will have the chance to know in a closer way its people customs and get good bargains with the handycrafts and souvenirs sellers, afterwards we’ll head for Urubamba, traveling on the borders of the river Vilcanota.
We’ll have lunch at a restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we visit the fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to watch the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from the jungle inhabitants’ invasions. We’ll have the chance to walk by the narrow streets and have a clear knowledge of how this militar, religious and cultural center was during the Inca empire.
On the way back to Cusco we will stop by the colorful village of Chinchero , where we will find the ruins of the Tupac Inca Yupanqui Royal House, we will appreciate its well preserve Inca wall in the man square and you will visit the beauty Colonial Temple with invaluable portraits, built over Inca Bases. Then we return to Cusco.

Day 16: Maras & MorayAfter visiting the Indian market of Chinchero, we continue our trip with a visit to Maras; an Indian village of typical colonial era architecture, before continuing to Moray. Moray is a unique site in many ways.
It is not the ruin of a city or a fortress: it is an earthwork. The ancient people of the region took four huge natural depressions in the landscape and sculpted them into multi-level agricultural terraces that served as an experimental agricultural station for the development of different crop strains.
The terracing survives intact, forming regular concentric layers flowing harmoniously into the land.

Day 17: Jungle trip: Cusco – Puerto MaldonadoCollection from your hotel to lead you until airport to fly with direction to Puerto Maldonado, at arrival to Puerto Maldonado pickup at the airport the trip start going to , a small river port, where we’ll board a motorized boat to cross the Madre de Dios River. As the trip progresses, we’ll become immersed in the natural surroundings of the jungle while observing the ronsoco, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other animal species. We’ll arrive at our lodge where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we’ll visit MONKEY ISLAND.
Day 18: Jungle trip After breakfast, we start to walk through the virgin forest, accompanied by our local guide as we explore deep into the jungle and reach the LOST COCHA (COCHA PERDIDA). The Lost Lake is a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a tremendous diversity of animals. There, we’ll have the opportunity to observe otters, caimans, turtles, sachavacas, birds of every color, the majestic jaguar and a variety of fish. This unique area, as it belongs to the Ecoamazonia Reserve, remains utterly intact, with large marshes and natural springs. We’ll ascend to and extraordinary vantage point, from which we’ll have a chance to observe the magical jungle, followed by a pleasant canoe ride around the lake. We’ll return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, we offer rest and relaxation beside the Amazon Pool. We’ll end the day with a pleasant dinner
Day 19: Jungle tripWe’ll wake up to the delightful song of birds in the surrounding canopy. After breakfast, we’ll start our excursion with a walk deep into the jungle, making our way along specially-prepared paths and canyon bridges. On afternoon we’ll return to the lodge to enjoy lunch and afternoon freetime and dinner.
Day 20: Jungle tripAfter breakfast, we’ll start another excursion through the magical jungle, navigating along the Madre de Dios River where we will observevseveral animals as turtles, caimans, birds and a wide variety of insects. We’ll also be able to fish and take a quick dip in the river. We’ll return to the lodge and end the day with a pleasant dinner.
Day 21: Puerto Maldonado – Cusco – Lima.Breakfast and transfer to the airport of Puerto Maldonado, to get flight to Cusco and Lima. Collection from Lima airport and transfer to selected hotel.
